The Italian
fashion house has announced the departure of designer, Marco Zanini after a
year as the head of women's collections. Relaunched in 2012, the famous fashion
house will unveil a new creative director shortly.
Considered
to be one of the first houses to combine the worlds of art and fashion,
Schiaparelli burst back onto the fashion scene as a leading label two years
ago, reopening its iconic Place Vendome boutique and entrusting Christian
Lacroix to design the first come-back collection. In September 2013 Marco
Zanini took the helm of the establishment, continuing to revive the house
originally founded in 1930 by Elsa Schiaparelli, creating unique and colorful
collections and most recently, revisiting the woman of the 1930s and 1940s from
a feminist angle in his Fall/Winter
2014-2015 couture collection. Today, Schiaparelli released an official
statement announcing the Milanese designer's departure, meaning the fashion
house is ready to announce the appointment of a new creative director shortly. Watch
