Victoria's Secret has announced that Angel Lais Ribeiro will
have the very special honor of wearing the multi-million dollar Fantasy Bra
this year.
The 27-year-old has been working with Victoria's Secret
since 2010, but this year will join the ranks of the supermodels who've worn
the very-special bejeweled bra before her when she hits the Fashion Show runway
in Shanghai later this month.
In addition to posing for a series of very sexy pictures in
the pricey lingerie, Lais also starred in a behind-the-scenes clip for Vogue
from her photoshoot.
This year the Mouawad-designed Fantasy Bra weighs more than
600 carats and is handset with diamonds, yellow sapphires, and blue topaz. The
metal is 18 karat gold.
The Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra took nearly 350 hours to
make and hand-set with almost 6,000 gemstones.
While participating for a shoot for the bra, Lais also
filmed a look behind the camera in which she is seen getting ready and waiting
for the shoot to begin.
After her hair and make-up is done, she's told in the video
that the photographer is running late. While she waits, Lais pulls on a pair of
baggy boyfriend jeans, slipping the jeweled belt that matches her bra around
the outside.
She then digs into a plate of spaghetti before offering to
help speed things along, groaning as she moves weighted bags and equipment
around the studio. She also plays around with the camera lenses and wind
machine before finally starting the shoot.
Though she may seem relaxed, don't let Lais' casual attitude
in the video fool you — she was totally giddy when she learned she's snagged
the high-profile gig.
'I came in and when I tried it I cried, it was
unbelievable,' she told Vogue. 'You just feel so powerful wearing it — like all
the hard work has paid off.'
'I asked my brother to put everybody on the phone: my
grandma, grandpa, my mom, uncles, everybody in the room and then I told them
and it was just me crying on the side and my entire family on the other side
crying. They're jumping; my sister dropped the phone. It was amazing.'
Her brother and dad will also be in Shanghai to watch her
during the show.
Lais said she is thrilled to be joining the big names who've
had this big honor in the past.
'Who doesn't dream about wearing the Fantasy Bra — I mean
it's an honor to be among Gisele [Bündchen], Candice [Swanepoel], Adriana
[Lima], and all the big top models who have worn it in the past,' she said.
