How To Look Like A Pop Star In The Club

It’s another fashion season and all of us are hunting for great doorbusters as we plan our fall and winter clubbing outfits.
Walking into the club is about a lot more than just finding a great deal on a killer dress, however. Here are four tips from us here at Concierge4fashion that will take you beyond just being well-dressed and make you look like a true superstar when you hit the club:

1.  Be comfortable in your own body – It doesn’t matter what discounts you find if you’re going to feel embarrassed walking into the club in the dress. Everyone – even the biggest stars – feels self-conscious, but the key to looking like a star is overcoming that and reminding yourself that you’re brilliant. As Lady Gaga famously said, “When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, ‘B*tch, you’re Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.’” We can’t all be Lady Gaga, but we can all be just as proud of who we are when we put on our club gear and roll out with our girls. This confidence alone will make any outfit look better.

2.  Always focus on pieces that fit – Whether you are short, tall, thin, or curvy, you’re not always going to have the same body as the girl who’s modeling that great dress. That means that even the best dress is not going to look right on you unless it has a good fit. For club dresses, a good fit is particularly important in the waistline and tummy area. Plenty of otherwise-stunning sequin dresses have failed to impress by being too snug in the middle. Remember, there are dresses for every body type, so know yours and choose the pieces that look best on you.

3.  Contrast is the key to fashion – This can’t be said enough! If you’re going with a slinky, short party dress then consider something chunky like a shawl, big hair, a jacket or giant sunglasses. Likewise, if you have a flowy dress, then go light on the jewelry and consider small sunglasses.

4.  A little goes a long way – When clubbing, there are lots of extra things you can do to make yourself stand out: colored streaks in your hair, glitter on your face, great jewelry… the list goes on. But moderation is the key to all of these. A light dusting of glitter on the cheeks and shoulders is alluring in a way that a glitter mask really isn’t. Always use a light touch on anything that could come across as over the top.
